Mimaland was once a popular recreation park situated in Gombak but it was closed in 1993 due to serious landslide. The natural environment with plenty of trees and plants and a lake attracts families for weekend activities--picnic, fishing, boating, jungle trekking, cycling and etc. I long for those nostalgic Mimaland days, probably the sweetest childhood memories that one could have-- the country's first water-slides, biggest swimming pool and replicas of dinosaurs!
Many people hope that one day it will be renovated and reopened. However, it's sad to find out that the landowner has no plan to revive it and the land has been left idle for 15 years! Reading a newspaper
article about it this morning makes me feel sad and disappointed. It is now a sorry sight and certainly regrettable that such a beautiful park should be left in such a dismal and dreadful condition.
