On one hand, clients are customers and, therefore, ALWAYS right and always entitled to what they want. On the other hand, clients are people with problems they cannot solve, sometimes of their own making, and they may not be aware of everything that needs to be done. However, they are NEVER wrong because there is no higher criterion for correctness. The client has the right to demand more options, or even flatly disregard your advice, suggestions, alternatives or solutions.

Most of the people and companies who call themselves consultants are flattering themselves. I would use a more descriptive term --
a robotic slave with a bright smile. Besides slavishly responds to the demands of the client, we are expected to function 24 hours a day to untie all knots. The company will side with petulant, unreasonable, angry, demanding client instead of with its loyal employee. So why would I name this post as the love-hate relationship?
Why we hate them? Because they're really, really PICKY! And very often they're getting on my nerves! Then why should we love them? The answer is simple. Without them, your company will earn nothing and you'll be JOBLESS! And the most important is that, don't forget, ALL of us are customers too!
