Christmas! The very word brings joy to our hearts. No matter how we may dread the rush, the long Christmas lists for gifts and cards to be bought and given - -when Christmas Day comes there is still the same warm feeling we had as children, the same warmth that enfolds our hearts and our homes...

A short conversation between Li Lian & I
Li Lian: What's your favourite drink at mamak stall?
KH: Limau Ais and/or Teh TarikLi Lian: Next time you should order limau ais kosong
KH: Huh? What if I have gastric? It's too acidic...Li Lian: No, limau is not acidic, it's an alkaline food
KH: Citrus fruit is highly acidic... it's sour!Li Lian: It's alkaline, it's written in the book that I've mentioned to you...
So the conclusion is...

Citrus fruits have an acid pH before they are consumed but they usually leave an alkaline residue in the body after they have been metabolized.

Antioxidants are a range of substances which block the undesirable effect from free radicals.

UV exposure, increased pollution and unhealthy lifestyles weaken the body's defense system against harmful radicals.
A long-term, highly nutritious diet is essential to protect the cells agains premature ageing:-
Lycopene
The most potent and effective form of carotenoid to protect against cellular damage by free radicals. Occurs mainly in tomatoes.
Proanthocyanidins
Contained mainly in grape seeds. Together with lycopene, it provides synergistic effect in neutralising free radicals.
Vitamin C
Plays a role in many antioxidative processes. Citrus fruits and green vegetables contain large amounts of Vitamin C.
Vitamin E
Protects the various components of the cell wall and promotes the intestinal absorption of selenium. Vegetable oils and soy products are rich in Vitamin E.
Beta-Carotene
Converted in the body into Vitamin A. Helps protect the skin against damage due to excessive exposure to sunlight. Carrots and green vegetables contain large amounts of beta-carotene.
Selenium
An essential trace element. Important components in the body's natural enzymes to fight against free radicals. Selenium also detoxifies heave metals (lead, cadmium & mercury). Occurs mainly in drinking water, cereal products, eggs and meat.

Migraine attack day! I was advised by Li Lian to go home early as she doesn't want me to faint in the office or on the way back home but I didn't... I lingered around the mall for about an hour before I head to the KTM station.
It was so crowded, by looking at the number of people at the station, at least 3 trains didn't show up. A few minutes later, a train came but I didn't manage to squeeze myself in... moreover I'm not really feeling well at that time so I waited for the next, which arrives 7 minutes later. I was lucky enough to get a seat so I sleep for the whole journey... when the train arrived at Putra station, I saw a train just next to us and people seems to be trapped inside...
The whole journey took at least 30minutes more than normal... every second feels like an hour to me, the train moves so slowly and it stops at each station for about 5-10 minutes...
Didn't have dinner with my family as I feel my world is spinning so I went straight to bed... and I wakeup for my dinner at 10pm :p
The next day, my mum showed me an article in Chinese about KTM train failure on Friday night... Thank God as I'm not in that train or I'll be in the hospital too!
Here is a short article about the incident.

Took a quiz at Facebook and the final question was "Is tomato a fruit or vege?". I simply select "a fruit" as the answer and it was correct. What makes me think that it's a fruit? Simple, I eat it raw, after-meal... I won't eat vege again after my meal ^^

Christmas is reaching, only 30days to go but I haven't see any Christmas tree or decorations in most of the shopping complexes...
While I was browsing for a snowglobe flash toy to add to my blog, I found this... a snowglobe USB mouse by Thanko, and it's available in Japan only...
Maybe I can make my own snowglobe...

What you'll need: a jar with a secure lid, superglue, glitter, decorations for the inside of the globe
Use superglue to stick the decorations to the lid. Let this dry.
Fill the jar with water and sprinkle some glitter.
Fasten the lid and turn the whole thing upside down. Shake it!

Yay! No die hard cream puff fanatics queing up... I wanted to try this combination of "crispy and creamy" bites long ago... a bit overpriced though :p
Selling at RM3.30 per piece, this freshly baked golden brown pastry filled with a burst of custard cream, sprinkled with a bit of powdered sugar taste just nice; not too sweet and not too oily. The vanilla beans add to the aroma and flavor...
